Course code: 117-403

English for Profession bridges university English and the workplace. The syllabus is built around five real-world projects: email diplomacy, customer-care calls, data-visualisation presentations, meeting minutes and a LinkedIn portfolio.

Learning outcomes:

  • Write clear, concise business emails with appropriate tone.
  • Handle telephone and video-conference enquiries politely and efficiently.
  • Create and deliver PowerPoint decks that follow the “story-line” principle.
  • Negotiate deadlines, prices and solutions using diplomatic language.

Assessment is 100 % coursework: project portfolio (60%) and integrated simulation (40%). There is no sit-down exam—employability evidence is what counts.

Ideal for: third-year students preparing for internship, or any learner who wants workplace-ready English in one semester.
